If you don’t think your legs can get you to the top of Snowdon then the next best thing has to be the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Trains have been running from the village of Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon since 1896 carrying over 140,000 passengers every year.

Take a once in a lifetime adventure on the Snowdon Mountain Railway described as one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world. Trains depart regularly from Llanberis Station to begin their climb up Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa, a journey experienced by some 12 million travellers since 1896.
Soon after you leave Llanberis the train crosses the first of two viaducts across where the Ceunant Mawr waterfall plunges majestically into the gorge below. As you emerge into the open, treeless countryside, the first glimpse of the Summit of Snowdon can be seen as it rises above the ridge ahead. All around the landscape is dotted with abandoned, simple, thick-walled dwellings that once housed local families.
