As crazy as the idea might sound to some, mountain biking on Snowdon’s paths is a popular activity. You’ll frequently see cyclists puffing and panting their way up or free-wheeling down.
However to help avoid accidents involving cyclists and walkers on Snowdon’s busy paths, a voluntary cycling agreement has been put in place on the most popular routes. Cyclists have unrestricted access to the bridleways between 1st October and 30th April. But between 1st May and 30th September there is no cycling between 10am and 5pm. The paths affected are the Llanberis Path, Snowdon Ranger Path, Pyg Track and Rhyd Ddu Path.
During the restricted times and dates the paths are bustling with walkers so it wouldn’t be any fun trying to cycle amongst them anyway.
